The Gear System refers to the highly complex system of weapons that Terra has for its members. The Gear System offers strong and more durable weapons and armors on top of what Vanilla sets.
The static part of the Gear System(the gear attributes, etc.), can be separated into the following three parts:
The interactive part of the Gear System can be separated into following three parts:
Static attributes are the stats that a gear has inherently and obtained from gear enhancement. Those attributes determine the actual damage dealt/protection provided by the RPG Gear.
Each obtained Terra RPG Gear has a Quality Title. There are multiple Quality Titles that are possible to obtain, and they are color coded into the following 5 categories:
These Quality Titles decide the base stats that the weapon/armor is going to have and hence the "quality" of the gear.
The Quality Titles of the gear also decides the upper limit of the stats of your weapon. A common quality gear, even upgraded to its fullest, wont be able to surpass a rare quality gear at its unupgraded state. If you wish to improve your gear quality, please refer to Gear Reforging
The gear attributes are consisted of two parts: Base Attribute and Enhanced Attributes
Base Attributes
The base attributes of your weapon is its attributes when it has not been upgraded. These means the toughness/armor value for armors, damage and critical strike chances for weapons, etc.
The base attributes are determined by Quality Titles.
Enhanced Attributes
The enhanced attributes of the gears are the attributes addition to the base attributes through Gear Enhancing.
Work in Progress. Will be released in Stage 2 along with player attributes.
Gear requirement is the player attribute requirments imposed on a gear for you to use. A gear might require certain MMO main level as well as player attribute level.
For example, Barb's Big Sword(does not really exist) would require you to have MMO main level of 5, level-5 in Endurance-I and level-10 in Intelligence-I. For all player attributes, please check Player Attributes.
The following are the interactive activites that you can do to your Terra RPG Gear.
The Gear Quality displayed during crafting does not correlate with the final result!*
As the name suggests, Gear Procurement refers to the obtainment of your Terra RPG Gear. A Terra RPG Gear Set(like the CareTaker Set) will need the following components to craft:
To obtain the above mentioned resources, the most direct way is to particpate in the Dungeons. You might also find those resources in Auction House if other players choose to sell their resources.
*However, please note that as you are crafting, the crafting station will display a random quality title for your gear (such as the Nimble in the screenshot above). This displayed quality title has absolutely no correlation with the final product that you gain.
Same as Crafting, the quality title displayed in crafting station does not correlate to the final result.
An already upgraded gear cannot be reforged.
The outcome of reforge is completely random. You are not guaranteed to get a better quality title.
After obtaining your Terra RPG Gear from crafting, you will be able to check on its quality title. There are various quality titles that are color coded to indicate their rarity/quality as shown in Gear Quality. However, you might have obtained an unsatisfactory quality title and you wish to get a better one. You will need to reforge your weapon to get that.
Reforging your weapon will cost substantially less resource compared to crafting them. You will merely need
As the warning above, the quality title displayed during the crafting process does not correlate with the final product. Furthermore, if you have already upgraded your weapon (showing +num), you will not be able to reforge it. At last, you are not guaranteed to get a better quality title from reforging. It is entirely possible to get a lesser quality title.
Upon obtaining a Terra RPG Gear with certain quality title, you can keep enhancing your weapon to make it perform better than in its native state! There are two ways of enhancing your gear, upgrading and gem socketing.
Gear Upgrading is very risky and you might end up completely losing your gear!
At Gear Enhancer, you can craft Upgrade Stones that can be used to upgrade your weapons. There are four tiers of upgrade stone:
You can drag the Upgrade Stone onto the weapon to upgrade. Each tier of the upgrade stone would have different upgrade chances. By upgrading your gear, your gear will gain higher attributes - more protection for amrors, more damage for weapons, etc.
Each upgrade stone has an inherent probability in upgrading your weapon. However, please note, if your upgrade fails, you will lose your weapon.
Another good way of improving your weapon(as well as yourself) is to get Gems to socket into your gears. When checking your gear in your inventory, you will see lines that looks like Empty Gem Socket
. The number of lines for the Empty Gem Socket
means how many Gems you can put onto this gear.
You can obtain Gems by participating in dungeons and trading with other players. Note Gem cannot be directly crafted.
There is also a success rate to Gem Socketing. However different from upgrading, upon failure, you will only lose the Gem Stone. You weapon will remain unaffected.
At last, there might be times where your gear is low in durability and about to break. Please note that different from vanilla items, your Terra RPG Weapnos will not disappear upon "breaking". They will only apply no effects and can't be used.
